Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Ultrasearch website, accounts, and Windows application. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

You must be at least 13, provide a working email address, and keep your sign-in credentials private. Account setup asks you to confirm that you meet the minimum age. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Local file search and indexing run on the PC where the Windows app and local services are installed. When you choose an AI feature, you send the related text, prompt, or file metadata to the service for processing on the configured PC. AI inference runs on the operator’s configured service PC; this may be a different machine from the PC where you installed the desktop app. The privacy policy explains the inputs transmitted for each feature. AI output can be incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. Check it before relying on it, and do not use it as professional advice or as a substitute for your own judgment. Availability can depend on your PC and network connection. We may change features over time and will provide notice where required.

Local file search is available on the free plan. Power User is currently $9 per month, billed monthly, for a larger monthly AI allowance. The optional Enterprise plan is $7 per covered team member per month, billed monthly, and provides the Power User feature allowance for company workspace use. An Enterprise seat is paid by the organization and does not replace or change a member’s personal plan. The owner is included in the seat count. Before authorizing payment, the owner can review the seat count and recurring total in hosted checkout. Taxes may apply. Each subscription renews monthly at the price shown at checkout until the owner cancels. Stripe processes payment details through its hosted checkout. We do not promise that a promotional or crossed-out price is available unless that offer is actually displayed to you at checkout.

Creating or joining an organization is optional and sets up a company workspace. A verified active organization subscription or an active custom contract recorded by Ultrasearch covers company workspace use for its members. An unpaid or past-due organization does not provide company seat coverage. This does not restrict a member’s unrelated personal use of UltraSearch or change their personal Free or Power User plan. Owners and admins can add seats by inviting team members; when an invited person accepts, the organization adds a $7 monthly seat. A prorated charge for the remainder of the billing period may apply, and the owner can review and manage billing in the dashboard. Owners and admins manage organization roles and member access. Inviting someone does not send an email automatically; the inviter must share the invitation link. Custom contracts are available only when authorized and recorded by Ultrasearch.

You can cancel renewal from Billing in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and access continues until then. Cancelling by itself does not issue a refund for a past or current charge. Use the contact form for a billing question. Refund eligibility and any cancellation rights required by law are governed by applicable law and the offer presented when you subscribed. See the refunds and cancellation page.

Use Ultrasearch only with files and accounts you are allowed to access. The Acceptable use policy lists what is not permitted.

Some sign-in, hosting, networking, payment, and connector functions rely on third-party services, which have their own terms and privacy practices. UltraSearch does not control those services. Connector availability and the categories of provider data processed are described in the privacy policy. Open-source license notices are provided for redistributed components. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners; references do not imply sponsorship or endorsement.

You retain rights in the content you submit. You give UltraSearch permission to process that content only as needed to provide the feature you request, operate and secure the service, and meet legal obligations. You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit it for that processing. AI-generated results may be similar to results produced for other users, and you are responsible for reviewing them and deciding whether and how to use them.

Subject to these terms, you may install and use the application for your own authorized purposes. Ultrasearch retains its software, designs, and branding; no ownership of them transfers to you. Rights granted under an included open-source license remain governed by that license. Do not misrepresent the service as your own, remove required license notices, or bypass account limits or access controls, except where applicable law expressly permits the activity.

Do not submit another person’s confidential information without authorization. The service is not designed for emergencies, regulated medical records, or situations requiring a professional confidentiality or data-processing agreement that has not been agreed with us.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a serious breach, suspected fraud, an account security risk, legal requirements, or a threat to the service or other users. Where practical and lawful, we will provide a reason and an opportunity to resolve the issue. You may stop using the service and submit an account deletion request through Your data in settings; a request is reviewed manually and does not delete data immediately.

The service is provided as available, subject to warranties and guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or that AI output will be accurate. Keep backups of important files and review output before relying on it. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

We may update these terms when the service or legal requirements change. We will post an updated version and date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when applicable law requires it. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the service and contact us about your account; mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
