Ask Agent to search files, apps, and the web
Use regular search for a name or phrase. Ask Agent a question when you want Ultrasearch to look across relevant sources and put the results into an answer.
Press Win + Alt and type a question or request, such as “Where is the launch checklist?” or “Find the GitHub issue about login errors.” Agent can search your local index, connected accounts, and the web when they are relevant to the request.
Use Agent in three steps
Ask for a result
Use a direct request or question. A short file name usually returns search results; a question or instruction can open an Agent conversation.
Check the sources
Agent displays result sources with its answer. Open a source to inspect the original item. Connect an app first if you want its results included.
Ask a follow-up
Continue in the same conversation to refine the request. You can open conversation history or delete a saved conversation from the Agent view.
What Agent can and cannot do
What can Agent search?
Depending on the request and what you have connected, Agent can retrieve local files and images, connected-app results, and web results. It can answer general questions with web sources; it does not need to search your private files for every general question.
Does Agent edit my files?
No. Agent can find items and answer questions, but it does not create, edit, delete, or execute files. Review the linked source material before relying on an answer.
What if a source is missing?
Check whether its connector is connected and whether your provider account can access the item. Provider outages, expired credentials, access restrictions, and search preferences can affect which results appear.
Where are my requests processed?
Agent requests are sent through the Ultrasearch service path to the configured service PC for processing. See the privacy policy for what information is involved and where it is stored.
Rewrite text in Windows too
Press Ctrl + Alt + Space to open Rewrite with selected text or clipboard text. Choose Rewrite to adjust wording, or Organize to structure it. You can also paste text or attach a supported plain-text, Markdown, CSV, JSON, or log file up to 8,000 characters.
Rewrite sends the text you submit for processing. The original is shown alongside the result so you can review it before using the revised text.
